An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Product Development Manager (Carp) to join the team at Daiwa UK and become part of the global tackle brand.

Daiwa UK designs, develops and makes reels, rods and accessory products for the UK and EU. The UK company has the most advanced rod making production plant outside the Far East and presently employs 150 people.

Daiwa UK is now looking for a talented and motivated Product Development Manager (Carp) to join the team.

The role will suit someone with previous experience in this capacity and who has a close understanding of the carp angling market. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in this sector of the sport, have a creative eye, as well as being good at generating solutions.

You will be challenged with developing products for the modern carp angler, working with its technical teams in the UK and overseas as well as liaising with its sister companies, consultants and retailers.

The candidate:

• You will be able to consider and propose methods and tactics to launch and market products on B2B and B2C levels.

• Show a suitable social media presence, which will assist with the performance of the role.

• The ability to work intuitively as well as within set systems and pre planned timelines.

• The capacity to work on multiple projects.

• A good communicator who is able to build strong working relationships across all areas of the business. These include management, intercompany departments, as well as current suppliers and a willingness to seek new ones.

• A team player who shows enthusiasm and flexibility.

• Microsoft Office skills in particular Excel and PowerPoint. Other software knowledge would be advantageous.
