There’s still time to bag a discounted stand at this year’s Game Fair at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire, putting you in front of 120,000+ visitors over the last weekend of July.
Angling Trades Association members can enjoy significant discounts off stand prices AND earn £5 back for every ticket they sell, which means you could potentially get yourself a free space.
Once again, the Fishing Village will be set beside the beautiful estate lake at Ragley Hall – and right next to one of the main entrances – with a vast collection of contents, from demos and have-a-go events to celebrity guests, tuition, competitions and the latest gear plus some brilliant association stands.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Fishing Village will also play host to the Public Restaurant, increasing footfall still further.
Fly tackle giant Orvis will be among the key exhibitors in the Fishing Village this year, and will be running its Fly Fishing 101 program, with expert tuition from Orvis-endorsed guides, keen to give visitors their first taste of the sport.
Look out for the famous Orvis Land Rover and tent, not to mention Orvis ambassadors running demos on the lake and hosting talks in The Landing Stage Fishing Theatre.
Visitors keen to enjoy some retail therapy will be dropping by top tackle dealer Garry Evans, offering the best gear from a string of major fishing brands, chatting about Anglers Insurance, finding out about Angling In Ireland or talking angling apps with The Bigger Fish, among others.
Have A Go
Get Into Fishing at The Game Fair has traditionally been the launchpad for National Fishing Month and this year will be no different.
To encourage people to pick up a rod for the first time, the ATA has backed the Canal & River Trust’s Let’s Fish scheme and coaches will be on hand to help visitors fish the estate lake and catch their very first fish or simply pick up some great tips.
Will they catch roach, gudgeon, bream, perch or one of the lake’s resident carp?
It’s a great place to introduce youngsters to the sport and help them understand how to catch and handle fish safely.
On The Water demos
Whatever type of fishing visitors enjoy, they will doubtless head to the Demo Pontoon on the lake. Top anglers including Hywel Morgan, Chris Hague, Jo Stephenson, Scott Mackenzie, David Ballington and many more will be showcasing their skills and offering some sagely wisdom.
With literally hundreds of years’ experience between them, they‘ll keep the crowds entertained with their casting expertise, tips and advice and enthralling stories
While The Landing Stage Fishing Theatre will host Q&As, fishing films, book signings and destination chats, among others.
Dive beneath the water with filmmaker Mark Barrow to get up close to different species in our rivers, get your old fishing line recycled and turned into new tackle with the Anglers’ National Line Recycling Scheme team and even learn about vintage tackle with antiques expert Victor Bonutto.
With more guests still to be announced, it’s a great way to attract even more visitors to the Fishing Village.
There’s a 10% discount off stand fees for all ATA members as well as the cashback ticket offer, plus free parking and camping on site.
