As a family-run business, Foxons has built an excellent reputation as one the largest game fishing shops in Wales, with a wide variety of fishing products and a highly knowledgeable and experienced team of staff on hand to assist customers.
The store is heavily relied upon by the fishing community and is in a strong trading position, with no immediate competition and sales also available online.
The property is located on Lower Denbigh Road, just off the main A55 and next to the River Elwy in St Asaph, Denbighshire. It also features a large four-bedroom family duplex apartment which is included in the sale.
Current owner, Renee Foxon, said: “Foxons has been in our family now for 55 years. The last few years have been tough for small businesses, but Foxon’s has survived the storm and, with fishing becoming more popular than ever, it’s great to see customers old and new coming into the shop, sharing their stories and enjoying their sport.
“We feel that this year is the right time to offer our shop to a new, enthusiastic owner. We will be looking for a like-minded person or family to take care of the future of Foxons and hopefully see it through another 55 successful years or more, but customers should rest assured that it will be business as usual throughout the transition to new ownership.”
Ashley Cobban, Retail Business Agent at Christie & Co, who is managing the sale, added: “This is a fantastic and very rare opportunity to acquire a well-established business in the fishing tackle market, alongside a fantastic property well suited to raising a family in-situ.
“The online side of the business could be expanded and grown to help significantly increase sales and further increase profitability. We look forward to helping Renee and her family find a suitable new owner to take the business forward.”
