The Canal & Rivers Trust’s National Celebration of Young and People and Fishing for 2021 has been a roaring success, with support from ATA members helping make it extra special.

As part of the C&RT’s Let‘s Fish campaign, the celebration encourages young people to get out and fish a fun match, this year on the Shropshire Union Canal.

ATA members Reuben Heaton and Dinsmores were among those who supplied tackle for those taking part and as prizes.

In all, around 200 young people fished the event with ATA vice-chairman on hand at the awards ceremony to congratulate not just the winners but all those who took part.

C&RT national fisheries and angling manager, John Ellis, said: “The volume and nature of this feedback we have had is proof to me that the Let’s Fish model is producing positive results both for angling and for the wider trust objectives.”
