The next Coarse Talent Pathway, backed by ATA member Korda’s Tackle Guru sister brand, is on course to deliver more young and competitive anglers.

The Pathway is designed to develop the youth of tomorrow by putting anglers in a competitive situation with a focus on performance, with the emphasis on pole and waggler tactics and natural baits.

The programme gives coaches an opportunity to observe and communicate with the anglers on a one-to-one basis, imparting their years of high-level knowledge. Coaches will assess anglers based on their combined performance and results.

Young anglers are invited to apply now and, if selected, can enter the Talent Pathway programme which aims to coach anglers into selection for the Under 15s Coarse England team – this selection is made by coaches and team managers at the final.

To participate in the Talent Pathway programme, you must be aged between 10 years to 15 years on December 31st, 2022.

The three sessions will be held on Sunday, March 5th and Saturday, April 15th, 2023 at Makin’s Fishery, Warwickshire and Sunday, March 19th at Barston Lakes, Solihull, with the final being staged at Makin’s on Saturday, April 22nd.

Applications will be reviewed by the Angling Trust, which organises the venture, and a Tackle Guru selection panel with a limited number of anglers chosen for each session.

An entry fee of £100 (£25 per session) is required and each angler will receive a goody bag of Guru kit at their first Talent Pathway session, with there will be prizes for section winners and the overall top three anglers at the final.

The U15 England team will then be chosen from performances across all sessions but especially the final session, which will be held in match conditions.

Applicants should complete the form HERE and submit it by January 31st, 2023.
