Draycote Water.

Following the passing of Fishery Management boss Ifor Jones in January, the future of fly fishing at Draycote, Eyebrook and Thornton Reservoirs has been uncertain.

In the interim period prior to the liquidators’ appointment, every effort is being made to secure the future of the fisheries and achieve the best outcome for creditors.
To that effect the current team at Fishery Management Ltd has engaged the services of a specialist independent agent SIA Group to
advise the board and manage the process.

The board has asked all creditors, stakeholders, members and wider community to extend their patience and support whilst it seeks the best result for these important fisheries.

When the interim board looked into the business following Ifor’s death, the balance sheet made for unwelcome reading.

It put a statement as follows: “On consultation with the firm’s accountants, Haines Watts, discussions were entered into with Leonard Curtis, one of the largest independent firms in the UK, specialising in corporate recovery, insolvency and business restructuring. With great regret and sadness, a decision was subsequently made to wind down the business with immediate effect and put it into voluntary liquidation.”

However, the team is hopeful that someone may come forward to acquire the business and secure the future of fly fishing on these popular Midlands waters.

Any parties interested in acquiring the business and assets are asked to contact Kevin Counihan at SIA Group on 07585 425 545 or preferably kevin.counihan@sia-group.co.uk to register their
interest, by no later than March 15th, 2024.
