Tackle giant Shimano is on the hunt for an experienced sales representative, working with retailers across the southwest of England and Ireland.

The company says the successful candidate will play a key role in building strong business relationships with its retail partners, advising them on market trends and presenting opportunities to purchase Shimano gear.

They will take responsibility for achieving sales targets within your territory, manage existing accounts while actively seeking new business opportunities, understand customer needs and provide tailored product solutions and advise customers on sales support and after-sales service.

They will also be expected to develop annual account plans, incorporating targets, historical data, forecasts and planned actions, review monthly performance against targets and adjust priorities accordingly.

Other responsibilities will include delivering engaging presentations on new products and special offers, maintaining accurate records in Shimano’s CRM system, staying on top of competitor activity and market trends, preparing reports on sales performance and emerging trends and representing the company at trade shows and events, meeting existing and potential customers.

Shimano says the ideal candidate will have between two and five years’ experience in a similar field sales role, and/or within the fishing tackle industry, together with a proven track record of sales success, strong knowledge of the fishing industry and its products, excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, not to mention proficiency in IT tools such as CRM systems, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

They will be a responsible, self-motivated individual who is results-driven and customer-focused and can demonstrate a passion for Shimano fishing products or a willingness to develop it.

Shimano and its subsidiaries are said to offer a pleasant, informal working environment with colleagues who work well together and are proud to work for the business.

Alongside good working conditions, Shimano offers the opportunity to work in a responsible and challenging position within a dynamic, international and ambitious environment.
